Poca Glasfiber Aps uses our special modelling wax, Farcolina®, for the manufacture of particularly unique fibreglass boats. Farcolina® is used in the design of the moulds for casting, where the wax particularly helps to round off corners and edges that require a radius.
EM-fiberglas is an old, well-renowned company that supplies high-quality composite solutions to industrial customers worldwide. They use Farcolina® between mould joints, thus avoiding large gaps in production.
At Dansk Polyglas, they specialise in the development of unique composite products in fibreglass. They use Farcolina® in their production, where in some cases there will be a join between moulds, or an edge that will be visible in the finished result. Our modelling clay is then applied to the join so that it won't be visible in the finished product.
Marmorline designs and produces countertops with sinks, separate sinks, bathtubs and bathroom accessories. They use Farcolina® on all edges of their moulds to create a radius on their countertops and sinks. This creates a softer, rounded edge on the countertops, instead of ending in a sharp 90-degree angle.
Kuma produces and sells custom-made worktops for kitchens and bathrooms. In their production, they use Farcolina® to create a radius on the worktops where it makes sense to have a more rounded finish rather than a completely right-angled worktop.
At Mabré Design, they design and produce sinks and countertops for kitchens and bathrooms. In their production, they use Farcolina® for a softer rounding of the edges of the countertops, so that the countertop doesn't have a sharp 90-degree edge as a finish.
At MAN Energy Solutions, they use Farcolina® when a part in an engine is defective. In most cases, the entire part would have to be sent to the East for repair or replacement. Here, modelling wax is used to create a shape around the defective part, for the production of a 3D print, which is cheaper to transport to the East than the part itself.
At Vitrex, for many decades, they have produced various products for use in the medical industry. Our modelling clay is used at Vitrex as wax sheets to seal small glass tubes containing blood samples before the samples are put into a centrifuge. Through many years of work and testing with Farcolina®, it has been found that our wax is clean and sterile enough to function as a seal for these blood samples, so that the samples would not become contaminated during use.
For many years, the Agency for Culture and Palaces has used Farcolina® in the renovation of statues at castles around Denmark. For example, they are currently renovating all the statues at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød. This could involve, for instance, rebuilding an arm on a statue. This is done using Farcolina®, after which it can either be bronze-cast or carved from sandstone, depending on the material being worked with.
Maria is a renowned artist with significant commercial collaborations with leading institutions in Denmark. For example, she developed a sculpture for Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen of a large frog sitting on a Copenhagen bench. She designed the entrance to Restaurant Alchemist, which holds two Michelin stars, and much more. For several years, Maria has used Farcolina® in the creation of her works, where the entire piece is developed in our modelling clay before it is subsequently bronze-cast into the finished sculpture.
For many years, we have supplied Farcolina® for use in education for conservators, artists and other courses. Our modelling clay has also proven useful in conservation work, as the product repels both water and other liquids, which would normally etch the product, but not Farcolina®.
At the Glyptotek, they are using Farcolina® in the restoration of the sculptures exhibited there. Furthermore, they have created a family exhibition where children and adults can work with Farcolina® and try their hand at the process of shaping their own works.
All artists and craftspeople who use Farcolina® use it in their work when developing a new sculpture, before the sculpture is sent to the bronze foundry, or when it is to be shaped in stone or other material.
